Common detectors include photodiodes and photomultiplier tubes, which are sensitive to the specific wavelength and intensity of the incoming light .Signal Processing Unit The electronic processing unit analyzes the electrical signal from the detector. Devices such as oscilloscopes, optical spectrum analyzers, or wave analyzers interpret the modulation to quantify the measurand.
